CHURCH SECURITY PROGRAM

PROTECT HIS HOUSE.

It’s always heartbreaking to hear of any active shooter tragedy, but when it’s a church in the neighboring county, it cuts a little deeper. The recent events in Cahaba Heights that left three church members dead is absolutely unnecessary, and downright evil. A House of Worship should be a sanctuary, and a place where one can freely practice worship without fear of attack.
The Walker County Sheriff’s Office offers a unique training opportunity to help Houses of Worship consider the security needs of their facilities and operations. Our program consists of several stages:
1. Meeting with congregation as a whole to discuss church security
2. Walkthrough of the church and campus to address safety concerns
3. Strategizing, advising, and implementation of a church security team, whether the church chooses armed or unarmed
4. On-site active shooter training in the sanctuary
5. Free use of the shooting range, under the advisement of one of our Firearms Instructors, to better understand your firearm.
The training is designed for anyone responsible for the safety of their place of worship and will help attendees to understand the challenges and needs of worship security.
The goal is to make the process of creating a secure environment easier, less expensive and more effective!
